Updated

Dear Rising 7th Grade Families,
Welcome to the Marietta Middle School family! We're excited to begin this new journey with you and your student.

Starting middle school is a big milestone, and we want every student to feel confident, connected, and ready for their first day. That's why we invite you to our "Be Somebody" Rising 7th Grade Orientation on Friday, July 17.

  • Ask questions and meet other rising 7th-grade families
  • Take part in activities designed to help students feel comfortable and excited about middle school

Orientation vs. Meet & Greet

Families often ask how these two events differ. Here's a quick comparison:

"Be Somebody" Orientation — July 17

Designed specifically for rising 7th graders and families new to Marietta Middle
Learn how middle school works
Student and parent breakout sessions
Campus tour and transition activities
Learn about expectations, supports, and opportunities

Meet & Greet — July 31

  • Open to all students before school begins
  • Pick up schedules
  • Meet teachers and visit classrooms
  • Brief opportunity to locate classes
  • Prepare for the first day of school

Please note: Schedules will NOT be available at Orientation.

If your student is entering middle school for the first time, we highly encourage you to attend Orientation. It offers a much more in-depth introduction to Marietta Middle School and helps students begin the year feeling confident, connected, and prepared.

We can't wait to welcome our newest Blue Devils and begin an incredible year together. We look forward to seeing your family on Friday, July 17!
