Be Somebody Orientation for rising 7th-graders: Friday, July 17
New to Marietta Middle School? Orientation is your family's first step. Rising 7th graders and their families will meet administrators and staff, tour the campus, and learn how the middle school day works — from academics and expectations to clubs, sports, and student supports. Students will take part in activities designed to help them start the year feeling confident and connected.
Choose one session and register here:
- 8:00–10:00 a.m.
- 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- 1:30–3:30 p.m.
- Please note: Class schedules will not be available at Orientation. Students will receive schedules at the Meet & Greet on July 31.
Meet & Greet — Friday, July 31
All MMS students are invited to pick up their class schedules, meet their teachers, and walk their routes before the first day of school on August 4. No registration needed — just come during your assigned session:
- 9:00–10:00 a.m. — Last names A–M
- 10:30–11:30 a.m. — Last names N–Z

Carpool & Transportation
Morning Carpool begins at 7:10 a.m.
- Students arriving at 7:38 a.m or later must be taken to the front office to check in.
Afternoon Carpool begins at 2:30 p.m. and ends at 2:40 p.m.
- After 2:40 p.m., students may be picked up at the main entrance of the school.

Dress Code
Shirts/Outerwear/Jackets/Other:

Shirts of any color, but they must feature the Marietta logo or related team wording.

Students may wear plain black/grey/navy/white visible t-shirts.

MMS spirit wear shirts — check the PTSA website for additional purchasing information and options.

Outerwear must be in solid black, grey, navy, or white, or feature the Marietta logo or related Marietta team wording.

Non-MMS/ Marietta logo outerwear is allowed only in solid navy, solid grey, solid black, or solid white.

Graphic hoodies/sweatshirts are not allowed.

Hoods are not allowed on the head while in the building.

Students must wear a Marietta shirt or plain black/grey/navy/white t-shirts under their outerwear.

Non-MMS coats may be worn to and from school but must remain unzipped to display the uniform.
Pants, Shorts, & Skirts:

Joggers/sweatpants/jeans/leggings/slacks in khaki/tan, grey, navy, white, or black are acceptable without rips, holes, or fringes. Pajama pants are not allowed.

Skirts/skorts must be mid-thigh or longer in khaki, grey, navy, white, or black.

Shorts in khaki/tan, grey, navy, white, or black are acceptable without rips, holes, or fringes. Spandex biker shorts are not allowed.
Shoes:

Shoes should be closed-toe and appropriate for a school environment.

Flip flops, sandals without a back strap, heels above two inches, and slides are not permitted.

Athletic shoes are recommended.
